On November 5, 2017, a gunman attacked the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing 26 and injuring 20 others. After being shot twice by a civilian outside of the church and a high speed chase by another civilian, the gunman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, including a self-inflicted shot to the head.
